GVM Upgrades
Get your 4WD touring-ready with a GVM Upgrade
Your GVM is your gross vehicle mass and is the maximum loaded weight of your 4wd while driving on the road. The GVM is specified by the vehicle manufacturer from factory.
When you start adding aftermarket accessories to your 4×4 – things like a bull bar, tow bar, roof-top tent, or even a long-range fuel tank and fridge – you might quickly find yourself exceeding your vehicle’s Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM). This is the maximum weight your 4×4 can legally carry. If you go over your GVM, you’re not only breaking the law but also potentially compromising your vehicle’s safety and performance.
That’s where a GVM upgrade comes in. It’s a modification that legally increases your 4×4’s carrying capacity, allowing you to safely equip it with all your desired accessories. Touring Solutions Australia goes a step further, ensuring their GVM upgrades don’t just increase your legal limit, but also include essential suspension component upgrades to guarantee your vehicle can handle the additional weight securely and effectively.
Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Setup your Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for touring with the right suspension and GVM options.
TRAILBOSS / LTZ / ZR2
The Silverado packs a punch from factory – with incredible power, comfort and towing capabilities – only to let down by a shocking GVM of 3,300kg. Weighing in at 2,540kg*, you’re only left with a carrying capacity of 760kg. Four adults, a decent van on the back, and a full tank of fuel and you’re pretty well overloaded. If you’re wanting to build a capable Silverado, you have to consider a GVM Upgrade. With four options available, we’ll have something that will suit what you’re trying to achieve.

Toyota 300 Series
Setup your Toyota 300 Series for touring with the right suspension and GVM options.
Build your 300 Series right with a GVM Upgrade.
With a factory GVM of 3,280kg and a kerb weight of 2,630kg*, you can only legally carry 730kg before you’re over your weight limit. If you consider just passengers, a few accessories – a small fridge, a rear drawer) and a van, you’re pretty quickly over your 730kg carrying capacity. If you were to properly equip your 300 series with a bull bar, roof-rack, long-range tank, then you’ll certainly need a GVM upgrade. Completing the GVM upgrade ensures you have the necessary suspension setup to carry the added weight, along withthe compliance to do so legally.

Nissan Patrol Y62
Setup your Nissan Patrol Y62 for touring with the right suspension and GVM options.
Build your Patrol Y62 the right way with a GVM Upgrade
The Patrol only has a factory payload of 742kg, so if you’re intending to build a touring 4wd or tow a heavy caravan, you’re going to bust past your carry capacity pretty quickly. Four adults, the ball weight of the van, and a full tank of fuel will pretty well tip you over your payload, so it’s worth considering a GVM upgrade if you’re doing anything serious to your Patrol. With multiple GVMs available, all running our upgraded Lower Control Arm, you’ll travel happy knowing your suspension is properly equipped to carry the load and you’re legally compliant.

Ford F-150
Setup your Ford F-150 for touring with the right suspension and GVM options.
TRAILBOSS / LTZ / ZR2
The Ford F-150 has a V6 engine, pushing around 330KW with a 4.5 brake tonne towing capacity. It appears to be set up right from factory, until you consider your payload. The factory payload of the F-150 XL is 769kgs which is less than a Ranger. If you’re planning on using the F-150 for work or touring you need to consider a GVM upgrade. Touring Solutions Australia has 3.58t, 3.85t, 4.2t and 4.49t options available. The 3.58t GVM upgrade gives you an additional 360kg payload capacity taking your total to 1129kg!

Ford Next Gen Ranger
Setup your Ford Next Gen Ranger for touring with the right suspension and GVM options.
Build your Next Gen Ranger right with a GVM Upgrade.
The Ford Ranger is renowned for its versatility, robust performance, and a payload of 1000kg. The Ranger is one of the most impressive utes available. However, as you move up the specifications you will notice that the payload decreases to 982kg with the Wildtack X. If you’re wanting to unleash the potential and ensure maximum safety and efficiency, a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) upgrade is essential.

RAM 1500 DT
Setup your RAM 1500 DT for touring with the right suspension and GVM options.
Enhance your RAM 1500 DT performance and safety with a GVM Upgrade.
By increasing the allowable weight your truck can carry, you ensure stability, compliance with road regulations, and reduced wear on vital components. A GVM upgrade also boosts towing capacity, extends vehicle longevity, and can increase resale value. Tailored to meet your specific needs, it transforms your RAM 1500 into a more versatile and reliable vehicle for both work and adventure.
Invest in a GVM upgrade today to unlock your truck’s full potential.
